Game Day (in pink)
I'm not sure what's more important- the 50th year of Superbowl or getting your hands on the best twill coat since Coco Chanel circa 1954. It's game day here in the USA and just as we Aussies embrace our sport back home, its all eyes on the screen here today. Yet as the saying goes, 'only in America' as 105 million viewers tune in to watch the game, generating over 25.3 million tweets (#superball50) and according to CBS, approximately 100 million pounds of guacamole will be devoured.
As I sit watching from East Village we are 15 minutes in and i've already witnessed Adriana Lima and Karlie Kloss snapchat their pre game antics, The Weekend appear in a Squarespace add and Lady Gaga belt the American Anthem- on that note, God Bless America. It seems that Game Day brings everyone together, if it's not pop culture royalty its presidents and coaches alike, a whole 160 minutes that brings the nation to a halt. While I have as much an idea about the rules as I do the players lets be honest, i'm here for one thing and one thing only- Beyonce.
Coldplay is taking centre stage and good for them, a collaboration with her majesty Bae, and while we await with anticipation costumes, songs and every detail of choreography- people, it's both show time and touch downnn.
